Retired FBI Special Agent Harry Trombitas discusses his three decades with the bureau, which included hunting serial killers, kidnappers, violent bank robbers, and other criminals around the country.
Bio: Harry Trombitas joined the FBI in 1983 and worked in the agency's Omaha, St. Louis, and New York divisions before transferring to Columbus in 1991. In addition to his investigative duties, he served as the FBI’s Ohio spokesperson until his retirement in 2012. In that job, he was well-known for the colorful nicknames he gave bank robbery suspects as a means of soliciting tips that led to their capture, including the "Church Lady Bandit," the "Saggy Drawers Bandit," and the "Dirty Bieber Bandit." Trombitas later oversaw security operations for the OhioHealth hospital system, and has lectured in sociology at Ohio State University.
