Time: 1:00 PM
Come do a little networking, talk to some non-members about the organization, and hear our guest speaker, Paul Guyot, who'll talk to us about writing for Hollywood. Ever consider writing for Hollywood? Paul says he'll talk you out of it.
Plans are in the works for meetings in Ann Arbor, MI, and Louisville, KY. As of this writing, we don’t have any specific dates set but we hope to have them soon. Stay tuned!
Paul Guyot is now based in St. Louis, but he spent many years in Hollywood writing for television shows such as Felicity, the UPN series LEVEL 9 (where he worked with Michael Connelly), and Judging Amy (where he worked as both a writer and producer). Since moving to St. Louis he has maintained his Hollywood connections and has created and executive-produced back-to-back pilots for TNT and is currently doing the same for Sony Pictures Television and Fox TV Studios. Paul also writes short stories, one of which ("What a Wonderful World") appears in THE BLUE RELIGION, the latest MWA anthology. You can find out more about Paul on his website, paulguyot.net, but you'll want to meet him in person in Indy on September 13.

General Meeting Information
|
Chapter meetings are held every month, September through May. Traditionally these have been held in downtown Chicago, but rising costs there and our dispersed membership have led us to explore other options. Augie Aleksy at Centuries and Sleuths bookstore in Forest Park, Illinois has graciously agreed to host our monthly Chicago meetings. Augie will provide coffee, but we're welcome to bring cookies, or small snacks if we want. There are lots of great restaurants nearby to continue the socializing after the meeting.
In addition, chapter members in other cities hold occasional meetings. These will be announced in Clues, the chapter newsletter, as well as here on the website.

Our Last Meeting (June 4th)
|
|
St. Louis
On June 4, vice president Tony Perona and I visited St. Louis, Missouri, to meet with current and prospective MWA members. What a wonderful group of people! We were able not only to talk about future plans with our St. Louis-area members, but also to discuss possibilities for participation in local events with thevery vibrant SinC chapter there. Joanna Slan, president of the Greater St. Louis SinC chapter, arranged for us to hold our meeting at the Daniel Boone County Library in Ellisville. Joanna also graciously opened her home afterward for us to chitchat informally. We’ve come up with some ideas for the MWMWA’s future involvement in St. Louis-area events, and we made some new friends, too.
